Opera: State of the Mobile Web, May 2011 This report focuses on India this month. Statistics are usual but some insights are interesting! In most countries, the top two spaces in most popular sites to visit are occupied by social networks and search. However, in India shopping and classifieds take a solid second place for favorite sites to visit after social network sites, well ahead of search, as combined site visit data from AdMarvel shows. That is a bit surprising. Google anyways is the top site but still Search is not the top category! we see how India stands tall as a country in rapid development, with internet-based knowledge at the forefront of that growth. Cough! Cough! I wonder how filestube, zedge, songs.pk etc contribute to our “knowledge” growth!! Cough! Cough! We are probably still an entertainment-starved or entertainment-addicted country. :-) And finally, top-10 devices are all Nokia, once again. Last month , one Micromax device made its appearance. And there were blog posts & mail chains about it. No one will notice now I guess :-) After all, we all like to poke the big guys!
