Yahoo launches Yahoo AppSpot – a new app search tools for desktop and mobile

Yahoo AppSpot is an app for iPhone and Android, which lets users search for apps, browse Personal Picks recommendations, check out related apps to their searches, and then tap through to the App Store or Android Market to download them. Yahoo is the latest company trying to help mobile users discover new and interesting apps, having launched a pair of discovery services. Meanwhile, Yahoo App Search is hosted on Yahoo’s website and accessed through desktop browsers. It offers a database of apps, and more links to download them. “Mobile users rely on apps to continuously be informed and entertained, yet discovering new apps on a daily basis is still much more difficult and less intuitive than searching for Web content on the PC,” blogs product director of mobile search Anil Panguluri “At Yahoo Search, we think there is a better way – both for discovering personally relevant apps on a daily basis and finding the utility apps that help get the job done – regardless of the type of device or platform.”
